Ivan Iakimov

I joined the Institute H21 in August 2024 as a data analyst with a focus on electoral systems and their comparison. My interest in politics began in high school, with a particular focus on the situation in Russia. I graduated with bachelor’s degree in Applied Economics at the Ural Federal University in Russia in 2020 and with engineer’s degree in Statistics at the Prague University of Economics and Business in 2022. My bachelor’s thesis focused on econometric analysis of how the development of different city districts affects election results, while my diploma thesis centered on detecting election fraud using statistical methods. In my free time, I watch streams on Twitch, read books about politics, and enjoy going to concerts. When the weather is nice, I like to take evening walks in the park.
